Registration is now open for City of Edmonds Fall Discovery day camps for ages 6-12 on two upcoming non-school days — Oct. 18 and Nov. 27.
The first, on Friday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. is Owls of Edmonds. Get to know owls and their unique adaptations such as binocular vision, silent flight, and asymmetrical ears. Learn about the seven species of owl that call Edmonds home. Dissect an owl pellet to discover what this predator has been eating, and take a walk to a local park to explore owl habitat.
The second, on Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. is Furry Friends Non-School Day Camp. Learn about the mammals that live in our area. Investigate how they have adapted to survive in our local parks while examining pelts and skulls. You’ll also search for and identify tracks, and take a walk to a local park to look for animals.
Both classes meet at the Frances Anderson Center and are taught by Discovery Programs staff. Learn more and register at reczone.org.
