The Bastyr Center for Natural Health Clinic partners with the Edmonds Senior Center to provide naturopathic medicine and consultations every Wednesday. The clinic is currently located at the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center while the new Edmonds Waterfront Center is under construction.

Patients of all ages have come from Edmonds and nearby communities to receive a range of services that include dietary and lifestyle counseling and education, hands-on physical therapies, and herbal and nutritional supplements — with product samples offered free of charge by Bastyr University.

This is a student teaching clinic with Dr. Laurie Cullen, N.D., Bastyr faculty member, overseeing the senior students who are required to complete clinic hours as part of their training. There are morning and afternoon appointments available.

Among common treated conditions at the clinic are fatigue, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stress-related complaints, depression, anxiety, hypertension, life changes, gastro-intestinal issues, osteo pain and allergies.

Bastyr University, based in Kenmore, is internationally recognized as a pioneer in natural medicine. Naturopathic medicine emphasizes prevention and wellness designed to fit each individual and focusing on the whole person, physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Practitioners can work with each patient’s medical doctors and help patients become partners in their own health care.

The clinic is open Wednesdays between 9 a.m. and noon and 1:30  to 4:30 p.m. Call 425-774-5555 Ext 104 to schedule an appointment. The cost is $15 for each visit and is paid to the Edmonds Senior Center to help offset the costs associated with offering this program. This fee can be waived if it presents a financial hardship for the patient.
