Yes, I want want to support My Edmonds News!George Lasch, executive director of PlantAmnesty and horticulture educator at Edmonds Community College, will be the guest speaker at the Monday, Oct. 21 Edmonds Floretum Garden Club meeting.
Join Lasch for an opinionated and fun discussion of how he looks at plants for the garden. He’ll discuss what makes a good plant good and some popular choices that fall down in the long run. This talk will be helpful to a broad range of gardeners, from the newly addicted to the old hats, and all will find something to think about.
Lasch has been connecting plants and people his whole life as a plantsman. The East Coast, England and the Midwest all were home to his gardens before he got hooked on the range of amazing plants here in the Pacific Northwest, where he has gardened for nearly 20 years.
The meeting will be in the Brackett Room at City Hall, 121 5th Ave. N., Edmonds. A social hour and the club’s annual Harvest Festival begin at 10 a.m., followed by some club business and a short floral design segment. The presentation will begin at 11:15 a.m.
All are welcome. For more information about Floretum and how to join the club, visit edmondsfloretumgardenclub.org.

The Floretum Garden Club continues to grow as most retired folks loves nature and helping the environment and we have so many great guest speakers! If you want to enjoy a wonderful legacy of gardening experts, this is the club to join. If you can’t attend the meetings, I helped former Club President Betty Larman file necessary documents to make this club a 501(c)3 designation, so donations are tax deductible.
