At the end of a back-and-forth match, it was the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors who came out on top over the Stanwood Spartans 3-2 (25-18, 19-25, 25-15, 14-25, 15-11) in a Wesco League volleyball match played Tuesday at Edmonds Stadium.
The two teams traded set victories — the Warriors winning sets one and three while the Spartans capturing sets two and four – before E-W squeaked out a 15-11 third set win to take the match.
In other Edmonds-Woodway sports on Tuesday, the Warriors’ girls soccer team stomped the Stanwood Spartans 4-1 in a contest played at Stanwood High School.
At the Lynnwood Pool, the Warriors’ girls swim team was no match for the undefeated Jackson Timberwolves as Timberwolves’ swimmers won all eleven events at the dual meet; Jackson won the team competition by a score of T127-43.
