Miler Haller

Two former Edmonds-Woodway High School cross country standouts led Boise State cross country to top finishes in the Mountain West Championships Friday, Nov. 1.

The Bronco women, who placed third, were paced by sophomore Yukino Parle who finished seventh with a time of 20:22.67. Parle won the Sagebrush Invitational on the same course earlier this season. Parle’s seventh-place finish earned her All-Mountain West Cross Country First Team honors.

While a student at Edmonds-Woodway, Parle finished in the top 10 at the 3A WIAA State Championship for three years, with runner-up finishes in 2015 and 2017. She earned two state titles in the 3,200m, winning as a sophomore and as a senior. She finished as the state runner-up in the 3,200m as a junior, while taking second in the 1,600m as a senior.

On the men’s side, senior Miler Haller led the Broncos to a fourth-place finish. Haller finished seventh with a time of 23:25.0. He earned All-Mountain West First Team honors for the second time.

While at Edmonds-Woodway, Haller recorded two top-10 finishes at the Washington Cross Country State Championships in his junior and senior seasons. During his senior year, he put together a pair of top-10 finishes in the 1,600m and the 3,200m at the Washington Track and Field State Championships.

Boise State next returns to action at the NCAA Regionals, Nov. 15, in Colfax, Wash.
