The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors football team was shut down by the Squalicum Storm 28-7 Friday in a 3A Wesco League crossover game played at Civic Stadium in Bellingham.
The only E-W points in the contest came late in the fourth quarter on a 60-yard return of a Squalicum fumble by sophomore Ryan Fahey for a touchdown.
The Storm’s Ben Schlenbaker had second-quarter touchdown runs of 15 and 51-yards; quarterback Mason Binning connected with teammate Dedrick Mitchell twice in the second half for TD’s to give Squalicum the win.
With the loss, Edmonds-Woodway gets the No. 4 Wesco League seed for Week 10 playoff action and will have to face the Yelm Tornados on either Friday, Nov. 8, or Saturday, Nov. 9, in a loser-out 3A playoff game at Yelm Stadium.
