Meadowdale’s Grace Morgan led a contingent of nine student athletes from Meadowdale and Edmonds-Woodway High Schools to the WIAA Girls State Swimming & Diving Championships held Friday and Saturday at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
Morgan swam to an eighth-place finish in the 3A 500 Yard Freestyle and an 18th place finish in the 3A 200 Yard Freestyle at the state meet. The senior, with teammates Faith Urquhart, Emma Bray and Jersey Razzano, also helped the Mavericks capture a 20th place in the 3A 200-Yard Freestyle Relay.
Razzano also competed in the 3A 100 Yard Freestyle, swimming to a 21st-place finish.
The Mavs scored 11 team points at the state meet and placed 25th in the 3A team standings.
From E-W, Alexis Song raced to a 23rd place finish in the 3A 100 Yard Butterfly, then joined teammates Amilia Rees, Paige Oliver and Elisa Park to finish 23rd in the 3A 200 Yard Medley Relay.
