Registration for Creative Retirement Institute (CRI) classes for winter term at Edmonds Community College starts on Monday, Nov. 25, at 6 a.m.
The Creative Retirement Institute (CRI) is an organization affiliated with Edmonds Community College that provides non-credit, academic level classes to life-long learners. Classes are offered weekday mornings and afternoons in two-hour sessions that run from one to four weeks.
Topics for classes cover a myriad of subjects. Titles for a few of the courses coming up winter term are Hooks, Riffs, and Earworms: How Your Favorite Music Grabs You; Conspiracy Theories: Fiction, Logic, and Good Business; Making Sense of Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrencies; and Four Novels by American Novel Laureates.
The instructors come from various backgrounds – college professors, the corporate executives and individuals passionate and knowledgeable about a topic. Many of our instructors winter term have taught with CRI for years and some are new to the CRI world.
Brochures describing the more than 30 courses offers for winter term should be in local mailboxes soon or can be picked up at several locations, including the CRI office in the Maltby Building, 7020 196th St. S.W., nearby public libraries and senior centers. Or call the CRI offices at 425-640-1830 to find out other locations.

Or you can do so by mail — complete the form that you will find at the back of the brochure and mail to Edmonds Community College, CRI, 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood, WA 98036. To register in person, complete the form and drop it by the CRI Office in Maltby Building, 7020 196th St. S.W., Lynnwood.
Of course, you can register any time after registration opens, even after the winter term starts. However, keep in mind that many of the courses fill up quickly so it’s a good idea to register as soon as possible.
