Scene in Edmonds: Chum salmon spotting Posted: November 22, 2019 1587 This chum salmon was working its way across the Edmonds beach Friday to the Shell Creek outlet under the railroad tracks (don’t worry, the red marks are natural spawning coloration). Edmonds-Woodway High School’s Students Saving Salmon have been tracking the fall salmon migration into Shell Creek since mid-October. Unfortunately, it appears returning chum salmon numbers are down throughout Puget Sound this year.
