Snohomish County Sea Hawkers raise funds for Wreaths Across America

Wreaths Across America is the latest fundraiser for the Snohomish County Sea Hawkers — a chapter of the Seattle Seahawks Sea Hawkers Booster Club. Last week the club stood outside the 172nd Street and Highway 99 Walmart to collect donations for the event, which will place wreaths on the graves of veterans at Seattle’s Evergreen Washelli Veterans Memorial Park at 9 a.m. Dec. 14.

Last week’s effort raised $252, and Snohomish County Sea Hawker David Wervin said that online donations are still accepted at the Wreaths Across America website. List the Snohomish County Sea Hawkers in the location section to ensure all contributions go to Evergreen Washelli Veterans Memorial Park.

According to Wervin, the booster club chooses three to four different community events annually to support in addition to supporting the Seahawks. The group has held a sock drive for the Everett Gospel Mission, raised money for Sarvey’s Wildlife Rescue and did a beach cleanup at the Edmonds waterfront.

To learn more, email snoco12thman@gmail.com or attend a monthly meeting on the third Tuesday of every month at Shawn O’Donnell’s in north Lynnwood. Buffet starts serving at 6 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7 p.m. The club also hosts game-day viewing parties at the Alderwood Mall Blazing Onion.
