Edmonds Rotary hosting ‘Dine & Donate’ event for Gambia science education lab

The Edmonds Rotary invites the public to a “Dine & Donate” event on Dec. 9 at Salt & Iron in downtown Edmonds.

Owner Shubert Ho has generously offered to donate 20% of profits from dinner (4 p.m.-close) that evening to the Edmonds Rotary project “Bridge to Success – Science Education in Rural Gambia.”

As previously featured in My Edmonds News, members of the Edmonds Rotary have been working to build a science education lab in the village of Wassu, on the banks of the Gambia River in The Gambia. Without this life changing lab, most students in the village, and the 12 villages that the lab would serve, have very little chance of graduating secondary school with a science major, or continuing on to university. Helping these students helps the world.

What can you do? Call or go online to Salt & Iron and make a reservation for dinner on Dec. 9: www.saltniron.com or 425-361-1112. You will be greeted by the four members of the project team in their traditional Gambian attire, and they will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the project.
