At last meeting of year, Edmonds City Council set to discuss attorney services survey

During its last meeting of 2019, the Edmonds City Council Dec. 17 is set to hear summary results of a survey, conducted by outgoing Councilmembers Tom Mesaros and Dave Teitzel, regarding how much a selected number of other local cities are paying for city attorney services — either on a contract basis or as a city employee. The council at its Nov. 26 meeting voted 5-2 to  approve a three-year contract with existing city attorney Lighthouse Law Group.

The council is also scheduled to approve a range of items as part of its consent agenda (meaning those items aren’t discussed unless pulled into the regular agenda). Plus the council is set to take action on the following:

– Code amendment related to Downtown Edmonds BID delinquent assessment fees.

– Ordinance to Repeal Ordinance 3303, which was originally passed in April 2000 and established a purchasing policy for the city. In February 2009, the council adopted revisions to the April 2000 purchasing policy, but apparently did not do so using an ordinance — leaving two different purchasing policies on the books.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Public Safety Complex, 250 5th Ave. N. You can see the complete agenda here.
