The community is invited to a farewell reception for Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling Thursday, Dec. 12 from 4-6 p.m. at Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 4th Ave. N. A short program will be presented at 5 p.m. and light snacks and beverages will be served. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase from the Edmonds Center for the Arts.
Earling was elected to his first term as mayor in November 2011 and to a second term in November 2015. He did not run for re-election. Voters in November chose Edmonds City Councilmember Mike Nelson to become the city’s next mayor, staring in January.
“As I told my staff last January, we are going full steam through the end of the year, wrapping up progress on substantial projects like Civic Field and the Waterfront Center beachfront,” Earling said. “After that, my wife Susan gets to choose our next vacation destination.”
RSVP’s are not necessary but if you have questions you can contact Carolyn LaFave in the Mayor’s Office at 425-771-0247 or Carolyn.LaFave@edmondswa.gov.
