Edmonds Art Beat: December Art Walk — an evening to do something AWEsome.

What to Do:

This month’s Art Walk Edmonds is the perfect time to indulge in an evening of entertainment, enjoy the arts and even squeeze in some last-minute holiday shopping. More ideas for the weekend include visitingt some of our neighboring communities to celebrate the Solstice at Kruckeberg in Shoreline or to see the giant Menorah lighting in Lynnwood.

Tuesday Sands is the featured art show at Kelnero.

Art Walk Edmonds

The monthly art walk is always enjoyable, but I am quite partial to this month’s event. The crisp cool weather, the town lit up with festive lights and art all around us, it feels a bit magical this holiday. Many favorite shops in town will be open for last-minute holiday shopping and there is even a new business joining this month’s walk: The Crow boutique on 4th Avenue North, a must-stop shop featuring handmade gifts.

This month’s featured artist Tuesday Sands, a mixed media artist from the Pacific Northwest, will be at Kelnero. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy one of Kelnero’s own artistic creations, found in the form of a cocktail! If you are looking for something musical, stop by Starbucks for a jazz trio featuring some local baristas. After you get your caffeine fix, stroll down Main Street, stopping at the businesses along the way, and finish the evening seeing a “clay critter demonstration” at Cascadia Art Museum. Other fun events can be found around town, including a stop at the Edmonds Bookshop and the Cheesemonger’s Table, pairing to bring fun activities for all.

What to See:

There are still a few opportunities to catch a theater performance or the ballet. Get your tickets now for an unforgettable evening.

Edmonds Driftwood Players Presents: A Christmas Story – The Musical

If you are looking for a night of laughs and great theater, the Edmonds Driftwood Players is performing A Christmas Story – The Musical. Based on the movie, this production brings the iconic characters and themes from A Christmas Story to life in a festive musical format. Even though the performances are sold out, we’re told that if you show up at the Wade James Theater one hour prior to curtain, and put your name on a list, Driftwood Players does release tickets on a first-come, first-served basis. The theater also says they occasionally get a last-minute call after ticket sales go offline of someone who can’t make it, or have patrons turn in extra tickets at the door. So no guarantees, but usually a couple for every performance.
