North Sound Church is hosting a Night of Remembrance at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, the longest day of the year.
The Longest Night service is designed to create space for those who have experienced loss and its accompanying sadness to acknowledge the difficulty that this time of year can bring from issues such as unemployment, financial insecurity, health challenges, broken relationships and the loss of loved ones. It is for anyone who needs to sit with others who are grieving — not to compare stories, but to name the sadness they might be feeling and to find comfort where they are.
The hour-long service will include music, scripture-readings, meditations, and a candle-lighting ceremony. Those who come are welcome to participate as much or as little as they desire.
North Sound Church is located at 404 Bell St. For more information, contact Pastor Nancy Eckardt at firstname.lastname@example.org.
