Three days of scheduled basketball action at this weekend’s Fort Vancouver Holiday Tournament apparently wasn’t enough for the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors as the team took Saturday’s contest against the Enumclaw Hornets into overtime.
The extra court time proved positive for the Warriors as the squad edged out the Hornets in OT, 67-59, in a tournament semifinal game played at Fort Vancouver High School.
The teams were knotted at 54-54 at the end of regulation, but the Warriors outscored the Hornets 13-5 in the extra four minutes to claim the victory.
Mutdung Bol led E-W in scoring with 21 points in the contest. Nikko McNeal added 13 points while Nuer Bol contributed 10 points.
With the win, the Warriors will now play for the tourney title and will face the 8-1 Central Valley Bears of Spokane Sunday in the championship game; tipoff at Fort Vancouver High School is set for 7 p.m.
In other Fort Vancouver Holiday Tournament action on Saturday, Corvallis beat Shelton 63-48, Fort Vancouver slipped past Hockinson 49-44 and Central Valley defeated Woodinville 64-49.
