Edmonds-based Frog Lady (and her frog) participating in annual GroundFrog Day celebration Feb. 1

Thayer Cueter is the keeper of “Slew,” shown here making his annual prediction during a pst GroundFrog Day.

This Saturday, Feb. 1, the City of Snohomish will again be hosting GroundFrog Day, and the 15th anniversary of Edmonds’ own Snohomish Slew making his Spring Frognostication. You can join the celebration at 12:30 p.m. in downtown Snohomish, at 1st Street and Avenue A.

Escorting Snohomish Slew is Edmonds Frog Lady Thayer Cueter, who will be on hand as Slew issues his annual prediction: Will the Pacific Northwest be enduring six more weeks of soggy, foggy and wet?

The 2020 GroundFrog Celebration is followed by a Lazy River Frog Race at 2:30 p.m. at the Snohomish Aquatic Center. Prizes are awarded to the three fastest frogs. Purchase a $5 numbered ticket and your frog wears that number to race for prizes. Tickets are available at the Snohomish Aquatic Center and at their booth at GroundFrog Day celebration.  All proceeds go to support the Aquatic Center’s Swim for Life program.

Also starting at 2:30 p.m., you can meet Slew during the Frognostication After Party at Fred’s Rivertown Alehouse, 1114 First St., Snohomish. Everyone is invited to drop by for photo ops, receive a special kids gift from Slew and maybe a little magic frog kiss on the cheek.
