The Edmonds Food Bank is starting a monthly outreach program for military veterans in Edmonds beginning Wednesday, Jan. 15.
The goal of the “Got Your Six” (GY6) program is to create a space where veterans can interact with each other over lunch and coffee and learn about services available to them in the community.
The first meeting of the GY6 Program will be from noon to 3 p.m. in Kennedy Hall (lower level of the Edmonds United Methodist Church), 828 Caspers St., Edmonds. Lunch will be served at the start of the meeting, and there will be coffee and tea available throughout the afternoon.
The Edmonds Food Bank plans to make food provisions available to veterans. Representatives of other social service agencies will also be present to answer questions and offer services. In addition, there will be be announcements of upcoming activities or services of interest to veterans.
