Prep boys basketball: Warriors earn 60-47 win over Archbishop Murphy

After a slow start, the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors found their rhythm and pounded out a 60-47 victory over the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats in a Wesco League matchup played Wednesday at Edmonds-Woodway High School.

The Warriors fell behind 15-9 after the first quarter but turned things around by outscoring the Wildcats 14-6 in the second on their way to the runaway win.

Nikko McNeal led E-W in scoring with 15 points; Mutdung Bol tossed in 12 points. Archbishop Murphy was led by the 12 points of Lukas Doyle and 11 points of Zack Ingle.

Now riding a five-game winning streak, the Warriors will head across town to face rival Meadowdale on Friday, Jan. 24, in the annual Rubber Chicken game. Tipoff is slated for 5:40 p.m.; the Warriors-Mavericks Wesco League girls’ basketball contest will follow at approximately 7:15 p.m.
