Edmonds 8th and Dayton intersection closure planned for Feb. 18-21

As part of phase 2 of the Dayton Street utility improvements project, crews plan to close the 8th Avenue and Dayton Street intersection Feb. 18-21 to replace sections of the stormwater pipe underneath.

There will be no work on Presidents Day, Feb. 17.

During this closure:

– Through traffic will be restricted.

– Access to businesses, driveways, and parking lots will be maintained.

– The sidewalks at the 8th and Dayton intersection will be closed; pedestrian detours will be in place.

Crews are also continuing to do low-impact side sewer work between 5th and 9th Avenues in addition to the storm work. Traffic impacts from this work will be minimal.

A reminder that Community Transit Route 116 has been rerouted between 3rd and 9th Avenues for Phase 2 construction. Several stops along Dayton Street have been relocated for the duration of construction.
