Scene in Edmonds: Playing Taps at Veterans Plaza

Former City of Edmonds Animal Control Officer Deb Dawson made an appearance at Edmonds Veterans Plaza Monday morning to play Taps in honor of veterans on Memorial Day. All official Memorial Day events have been canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. (Photos by Larry Vogel)

  1. Dear Deb,
Thank you so much for playing taps where you were standing.
You put so much feeling into your playing, I could feel the mournful sadness in your playing that touched me deeply.
I hope that you will always do this at the same spot every year no matter where the virus is or hopefully has left us.
I am still touched by your playing.
    Again, many thanks to you.

  2. Thank you Deb. I usually attend the ceremony at the cemetery even though I no longer live there. I appreciate your doing this gig and hope you don’t mind that I shared it on my FB page to honor our Vets. I will miss not having my little poppy but I still have it from last year and see it everyday. It causes thoughtful reflections on all who served including those who paid the ultimate sacrifice! It has not gone unnoticed.
