Scene in Edmonds: Quiet day at the marsh

Photographer Ken Pickle notes there wasn’t much bird activity at the Edmonds Marsh Thursday. “However, there was a great egret, which we don’t see very often,” he says. “I suspect this is because our great blue herons are too boisterous.”

  1. Great Egret is not a common species in the Puget Sound counties. It’s lack of abundance is due to range and not any activity of Great Blue Herons. It shows up in Edmonds from time to time, but not every year. Great catch!
