Many vaccine appointments still available at Dale Turner YMCA March 13 for those eligible

According to our friends at Shoreline Area News, the popup vaccine event at the Dale Turner YMCA Saturday, March 13, still has lots of appointments open.

Shoreline Fire will be administering the one-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

The popup clinic begins at 9 a.m. It will be held inside the building. Free parking on P1 level.

  1. I’d like to sign up for vaccinations for my husband and me. (We do qualify because of our ages.)

  2. Thank you very much for this notice. I was able to secure an appointment on Saturday morning for Saturday morning.

Fearing the worst – people milling about wondering where to go, queues stretching interminably, etc – I arrived ~30 minutes early for my appointment. I should not have worried. Every single person deployed for this pop-up vaccination event – and I mean all of them – were well-trained and prepared for every contingency; the event itself was planned exceedingly well down to the smallest details.

So my fears did not occur. Instead, I (and everyone else) was ushered past every way-station quickly (as in immediately). Placards announced “Line forms here” — except there were no queues; in fact, no waiting at all. If I did not linger for 20 minutes after my injection, I would have been in & out within 5 minutes. VERY impressive. Too bad they had only so much vaccine; this pop-up could have handled 3x the people with no disruptions, no waiting.

Thank you to Dale Turner YMCA and a loud shout-out to the staff from Shoreline Fire; you all were great! (If my house has to catch fire, I want your teams to respond. 🙂 And of course to My Edmonds News; were it not for your article, I would still be waiting for my vaccination.
