My Edmonds News Daily Legislative Report: March 17, 2021 – Expanding assisted suicide

My Edmonds News presents the Daily Legislative Report, covering the 2021 Washington State Legislature. The Senate Committee on Health & Long Term Care heard testimony, on Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1141, which would increase access to the Death with Dignity act. The bill passed the House on Feb. 25, by a vote of 60-37, would have to pass the Senate, in order to make its way to the Governor’s office to be signed into law.

  1. Oregon has this or did. Pharmacists do not have to fill those scripts. So remember this with your plan. I totally am for Death with dignity. But there are questions. 1. Will insurance pay for the Medication? 2. Will medicaid pay for it? All important. Will people be required to be in hospice to take the meds? Answer all of these please.
    Remember I am very much for this. I had a friend who lived in Portland. He wanted to do this with his stage 4 nor treatable lung cancer. Mesothelioma from asbestos. BUT…he couldn’t find a pharmacy to fill the script. So, he near death, bloated, sick, in horrid pain committed suicide with a 357. He never owned a gun before. He bought it for this purpose.
    Yes…Pass this. Please..
