Scene in Edmonds: USS Nimitz

From photographer Julia Wiese, who notes that the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier passed through the Edmonds area Sunday morning about the same time as a weather system. “Just before it went out of my sight near Kingston, the rain cleared enough to get a decent shot,” she says

  1. Julia, the shot of the carrier when the air cleared is truly telling on just how bug this ship really is, totally amazing.
I know there are explanations of physics as to why all this steel does not sink, just as I must believe that planes can fly. My instinct tells me differently. I am constantly amazed when fact dissolves my instincts!
Thank you Julia for the awakening.

    1. Ingrid, I know what you mean by the scale of it all being so amazing. I am in awe of it as well…and glad the weather broke enough to capture a shot.
