Scene nearby: Snow geese take flight

Edmonds photographer Ken Pickle was visiting Fir Island, Skagit County on Friday to take still photos of snow geese. Then an eagle flew over, causing all of them to take flight. He also shared some photos from the day:

  3. I was up there a week and a half ago and didn’t find any until I got over by Stanwood. Found bunch that also took flight but not nearly as many as you saw. That is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

  4. I was on Fidalgo Island last Saturday and looked up as THOUSANDS of snow geese were flying high overhead, in formations, heading north. Harbinger of Spring? Wave after wave flew over. It was an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime moment.
