Interesting. According to iBird PRO, that bird should be in Texas and generally doesn’t migrate.
I’ve seen Muscovy ducks at Greenlake so they are in our area.
I know. They’re not in any of our bird books. However, I have seen several in the Western Washington Birding group post a few pictures on their FB page, so they are becoming more common.
Maybe they are making a political statement about Texas?
Feral domestic female Muscovy. Barred pattern. Might be laying (egg pouch seems prominent). Wild Muscovy ducks are not as heavy and barely get into the USA in extreme southern Texas. Feral domestic version is found in many places and in Florida and similar areas can be considered a pest.
