A mobile licensing team aiming to serve under-resourced Washington residents will be visiting Lynnwood Library Feb. 13. Services at the library, located at 19200 44th Ave. W., will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. “DOL2Go” offers services such as issuing and renewing drivers licenses/identification cards, providing copies of drivers records and reviewing documents for proof of identity.
The new service is intended to give community members the chance to get the services they need to live, work, drive and thrive. Organizations and municipalities interested in acquiring DOL2Go services are encouraged to email DOL-2-Go@dol.wa.gov.
For more information about the program, visit the Washington Department of Licensing website here.
Just exactly who are these “under-resourced residents” who are being served by this program? And how will this action help them?
Are they really parking this expensive DOL-2-Go van and additional staff at the Lynnwood Library to serve those who cannot make it to the DMV Licensing Office (for driver licenses/ID cards) less than a mile away, or, in the case of vehicle registration are unable or perhaps unwilling to LITERALLY cross the street to visit an existing Auto License Office inside the Fred Meyer store?
I’m obviously in the dark on this, but perfectly willing to be enlightened by a better informed party.
I too question this expense seems a waste of valuable tax dollars.
Millions flood over the Southern border every year since Biden was elected. These folks get money, food, shelter and licenses to drive. They use a fake social security number and work. They vote for those who allow this. These are the underserved folks.
“They use a fake social security number and work. They vote for those who allow this. umber and work.”
Might be a little broad-brushed? All of them? But you hit the nail on the dead with “they work.” Let’s remember that many Americans are encouraging illegal immigration by hiring them and giving them that work, that work that Americans don’t want. They bring in our crops, among other things. Removing them would drive produce prices even higher, and farm subsidies – our taxes – help pay them.
Perhaps part of the solution is to remove the bait by penalizing those who hire illegals?
I imagine that DOL2Go customers would receive services is a quieter, calmer and less crowded environment. This option sounds like excellent customer service. Innovative. Like food trucks and restaurants can each fill a different niche.
It would seem immigrants have been able to find the place to go but for some reason they can’t anymore? For some reason in the age of information we have meet people where they are because they arnt capable of finding where where they need to go? With their government provided cell phones? Frankly the government outreach has been ridiculous. And just who pays the bills for this one of many government endeavors? What this tells me government has way to much revenue, do you know what that is? Well I will tell you it our taxes. They have been kids in a candy shop with a pocket full of change. I can’t afford the taxes to meet the needy where they are.
