The Edmonds Floretum Garden Club planted 6,000 daffodils in city flower beds in 2021 as part of its 100th anniversary celebration. Photographer Chris Walton captured a few of them in bloom on Thursday, stating “They have returned!”

I am so glad the daffodils are appearing again. They are one of the toughest of bulbs. Their poisonous bulbs do not appeal to lots of pests such as squirrels, mice etc. They actually thrive on neglect. No water in the summer. So gardeners, pick a sunny spot and plant them next fall. Your work will be rewarded.
Thank you, Floretum Garden Club!
