Kimberly Shay and her 1957 MGA, Priscilla

Edmonds resident Kimberly Shay is launching a new event, Edmonds Cars & Coffee, from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 in the parking lot of Salish Crossing, 190 Sunset Ave., Edmonds.

The event, sponsored by Top Pot Doughnuts, benefits The Forgotten Children’s Fund. The first 100 attendees who bring a new unwrapped toy will get a free coffee and doughnut.

The event is an organized car/owner meet-up where beautiful vehicles and their owners come together. Spectators are also invited to join in.

A broker with Windermere Real Estate, Shay said that starting Cars and Coffee has been a dream of hers for more than three years. “I’ve always been deeply involved in the car community,” she said. “I own a 1957 sapphire blue MGA, attend the Edmonds Classic Car Show and the All-British Meet-Up at St. Edward’s Lodge. I grew up working on cars with my dad, spending weekends at swap meets and shows, and learning to be hands-on and resourceful.”

More Edmonds Cars & Coffee events are in the works, she said. Following the Dec. 6 event, there will be a Feb. 8 gathering themed “Bring Your Favorite Four-Wheeled Sweetheart,” with proceeds benefiting the Edmonds Food Bank. Additional meetups are planned on the first and third Sundays from April through September, other than the Sunday of the Edmonds Classic Car Show.

  1. Kimberly:what a great holiday idea for getting some toys for tots! I’ll make a trip to Walmart or Target asap for a present. I don’t have an old, vintage car but I’m from Detroit -Motown – so I always watch & appreciate cars, old & new, part of our DNA… I just bought a 2026 model of a well known brand that is a “smart” car -Google Assist. If Facebook, Reddit, etc. are to be believed I am the only one on Planet Earth who knows how to use it so that should count for something!
Regards, Looking forward to your Event, Colleen

    • Looking forward to seeing you there! Also motorcycles and Vespas are cool too. I’ll be riding my motorcycle down to the parking lot to shoot some video tomorrow. Four wheels or two!

    • Hi there, I’m just seeing this with the request. Reach out to me directly and let’s see what can make sense. For the free donut coffee it’s the first hundred attendees. 206-979-6069.

  2. This isn’t just for classic cars. It’s all cars… Just a lot of cars and enthusiast whether you have one or not. My younger son has a JDM car, 1997 Wagoner wide Suzuki … It’s for everyone!

Come on out and thank you!!!

  3. Cars and Coffee is a fantastic idea for the town of Edmonds! Events like this really bring the community together, and as someone who absolutely loves classic cars, I’m excited to be part of it. I’m also really looking forward to supporting the toy drive—Thanks for getting this started, Kimberly. See you on the 6th!

  4. You can also go north a bit to 310 Sunset to purchase your Christmas wreath or swag from the annual sale hosted by the Floretum Garden Club. The sale goes from 10am to 2pm, but try to go early because it’s a very popular event and usually sells out.

  5. You’re amazing, Kimberly! Not only are you a fantastic real estate agent, but you’re also an incredible event planner and person. I definitely need to join you for a yoga class so I can soak up some of that energy! Windermere is truly lucky to have you as a broker. I can’t wait to see everyone come together in Edmonds for this and future events!
