When the “enemy within” shows up at your door you’ll wish ICE had showed up.
A hollow threat falling on deaf ears, Michael. I have faith in my constitutional rights and the courage of my fellow citizens. Qanon conspiracies of deep states and secret enemies within “whatever” are puff and fluff, kind of like “Little Piggy” threatening to blow my house down.
I hope you are right.
I don’t know about you, Mike Molly, but I’m a whole lot more worried about a masked and ill-trained MAGA Goon Squad member showing up at my door than anyone from the mysterious “enemy within.” It’s a another beautiful day; so I think I’ll head back to the gun range to get a little more practice with my 2nd Amendment right to bear arms personal protection piece; to use against anyone I might not want to show up at my door to mess around with my freedom. As I said in the other thread, it’s pointless to try to discuss anything with these people who are afraid of their shadow and will accept any sort of nonsense form a sick and egotistical Buffoon; just to feel a little bit more secure I guess. Hell, everybody knows it’s all just Biden and Obama’s fault anyway.
Like I said, I will trust my neighbors. With gun-carryin’ sharpshooters like you on my side, no ICE interloper stands a chance! Do you think Trump, Vance, Noem or Bovino have any courage? They are bullying blowhards. They are dangerous because they presently have control of the executive branch of the government. There are people who object and are willing to protest. Perhaps in time as much as the Iranians are presently protesting, or as much as the Israelis did against their government’s attempt to restrict the authority of their courts. This depends on the courage of our courts and Congress to stand up to executive overreach. It depends on the vote in November. In the meanwhile I will join others and express my displeasure with the tactics of ICE, not their existence.
Gents – we had the Venezuela squads coming rolling through the neighbors here in Arizona. And there are still pockets of these gangs roaming. It was a very real and chilling experience for some of our neighbors. So, yes, in the PNW and Edmonds (where I was born) is pretty insulated. Clinton, most people are civil. Sure, there are wacka doodles on both sides of the political spectrum – that said, when I see 18-34 year old men who were the majority of those crossing the border, I have two questions: what is their motive and did they all leave the women and behind to fend for themselves?
Sounds like ICE needs to be down your way in Arizona more than in Minneapolis at a ratio of 5-1 to the number of local police. By the way, what does a Venezuelan look like? Seems like some racial profiling is going on. And as startling as it is, rolling through is not a crime for Venezuelan tourists, immigrants or citizens of Venezuelan descent. Elderly people deserve understanding of their concerns. Heck, I am one of them. We can be easily alarmed. I am thinking of that poor lady who lost sight in her eye due to a club-swinging, mentally-ill citizen in downtown Seattle. We need to be spending less on ICE going after law-abiding, undocumented immigrants and more on public safety enforcement against criminals: both citizens and immigrants.
I support traditional law enforcement including arrests and sentencing. Organized crime can be more serious so any known patterns of gangs or squads rolling thru communities often need to be prioritized. I’m not down with law enforcement playing chicken with a US citizen operating a vehicle in a vehicle right-of-way, and then shooting/killing them in their vehicle in the right-of-way.
Great point Mike Molly. The big problem is in Arizona according to Mr. Schindler; so he’s all in with his beloved President Trump invading Venezuela with the military and a Blue state (that Trump wants to get even with), with ICE. How does that even begin to make any sense? I live in Arizona some too, and I’m no more scared of the “enemy within” there as I am here.
Now the Trump Justice Dept.(it’s no longer independent in any way) has just announced that they are going to criminally investigate the Governor of Minnesota and the Mayor of Minneapolis because they wanted state and local officials also involved in investigating the ICE shootings there. If there is nothing to hide, why would they not want a co-operative investigation? No logic, no common sense, just illogical fear of the “Boogeyman” fostered by a known liar, cheat and pedophile protector at best and pedophile himself at worst.
This is all just gone beyond repulsive. Our constitution with the right to peaceful protest and to keep and bear arms to protect ourselves, says we are just as “right” about all this as Mr. Schindler and everyone else in the MAGA movement. The mid-term elections can’t come soon enough, assuming there is any hope of keeping them honest.
